The Marketing Miracle

Sometimes, not often, but sometimes, no matter what marketing strategy we implement (or however meticulous we implement it), our project doesn’t acquire the amount of leads necessary for it to bear fruit. Does that mean it was a wasted effort? Kind of. But is it a lost cause? Only if we give up entirely. One option remains. Having faith.

For seasoned marketers, a Hail Mary isn’t typically recommended. Neither is prayer, even for religious/spiritual types. When what was planned fails, trial & error occasionally becomes the last-ditch scenario as far as generating targeted traffic is concerned. But that’s not what we’re talking about. We’re referring to something entirely different.

There is no doubt that many of the greatest marketing & business stories were based on acts of faith. Strikingly visual ads for practical (and practically boring) products, collaborations between unlikely characters, and funny podcasts that synonymously tie into their brand perfectly (when nobody saw it coming). We never really know when a campaign will go viral, but we do know when it feels right. The trick, then, to a successful marketing miracle, is acting on that gut instinct.

So, if everything seems to be against you, and you’re tired of overanalyzing complex processes, and, simply put, nothing’s working… remember the companies that were forged into billion-dollar enterprises virtually overnight. It’s perhaps the reason that they’re called unicorns; not because of their rarity, but because they’re founded on the stuff of dreams. In other words, there’s a supernatural aspect to their success, one based on a feeling as opposed to pure logic. So, next time, go with it. Take a chance. In a competitive world made up of the smartest minds, try, just try to listen to your heart. Intelligence lives there, too.
